One can no more be pro-life and vote for Obama than one can be pro-Jew and support Hitler.
I know of far too many people who will refer to themselves as pro-life and yet support Obama. Barrack Obama is the most pro-abortion president we have ever had in office and has been ramrodding laws through to make abortions easier to access, while making the american people pay for them through tax dollars. To make it worse, Obama has been fighting to legalize infanticide, so that Mother’s can still get rid of their children right after they’re born. And yet, given all those things, I know Christians who will refer to themselves as pro-life and then turn around and vote for Obama. This is not just confusing, but disgusting. The genocide of abortion will never end until the Church, the body of Christ rises up and refuses to settle for anything less than the abolition of abortion. To be a pro-life Christian and vote for Obama is to hold two contradicting viewpoints at the same time. It is to condemn abortion at least personally, while then turning around and supporting a man who couldn’t be any more pro-abortion.
Hitler? Really?
While the connection to Hitler may seem unwarranted, offensive, and insensitive, I’d like to encourage us to think about the issue of abortion more broadly. While abortion is certainly not the same as the holocaust and while Obama is not the same as Hitler, there are certainly similarities that should scare us and move us to action. Hitler wasn’t the one personally killing millions of Jews, but he was certainly responsible for their deaths, and while Obama may not personally be killing unborn babies, he is the strongest proponent of abortions we’ve ever had in office. We should expect any president of the United States of America to fight for the defenseless and work to end atrocities that dehumanize those they victimize. President Obama has and will again put his hand on the Bible and swear “to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States, so help me God.” “That same constitution that he is swearing to uphold reads that we are to ‘secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity.’ Our posterity is a reference to our offspring – preborn children. Because Obama supports abortion and infanticide he will violate his oath of office the moment he takes his hand off of the bible. The irony is Obama will swear to protect the rights of future preborn children while at the same time defending the killing of these children” (Created Equal Newsletter – 40 years of Roe and 4 more years of Obama -). Like Obama, Hitler did not just work to exterminate a race and a people. That was the manifestation of his desire to help the German people after WW1, just like Obama’s extreme pro-abortion stance comes as a result of his desire to help improve the American’s lifestyle.
Comparing abortion to the holocaust is really not that radical, especially when we put things in perspective. For example, about six million Jews died in the Holocaust, while over fifty million unborn babies have died through legalized abortion since 1973. While Hitler led a systematic killing machine for the sole purpose of exterminating all Jews, some will say that abortion is in no way the same, but a closer look reveals a very different reality. Did you know that at Planned Parenthood, a woman cannot have an ultrasound to see her baby until she first schedules an abortion appointment to kill that baby? Planned Parenthood doesn’t want women to see their baby until they first agree to kill it, because they know that if they see their baby, they will more than likely choose to keep him or her. Abbey Johnson, former planned parenthood director, turned pro-life activist wrote a book called UnPlanned and in it she talks about her work as a director, and her heart being to provide good health options for women and work to decrease the number of abortions. At some point, she was approached by Planned Parenthood and encouraged to work on getting more abortions performed so she could make more money, because apparently, her clinic wasn’t performing as many abortions as the “powers that be” wanted. This shocked and confused Abbey, because she thought that Planned Parenthood existed to assist women in making sure abortions were safe and rare. Far from it. If all that wasn’t shocking enough, Planned Parenthood’s founder, Margaret Sanger was a eugenicist who idolized people such as Hitler. Of her many chilling remarks, there is one that rises above the rest as the most vicious: “The most merciful thing that a family does to one of its infant members is to kill it.” This is the magnitude of what we speak, and if we saw abortion as horrific as God sees it, a comparison to the holocaust and Hitler would not only not upset us, but invite us to action. Here is a video that gets pretty close to seeing abortion as God sees it: When Abortion Is Hidden[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

Yes, Seth, once again I wholeheartedly agree with you. Some people are politically ignorant and one Christian friend who was really hurt by an abortion when she was young voted for Obama because ” Romney flip flopped on abortion”. Women tend to adopt their husbands political views and some do not think for themselves. I have become very interested in politics in recent years. I admire you so much for the stand you are taking, but it appalls me to see the attitudes and misapplication of scripture coming from Westmont students today.
I, for one, wholeheartedly disagree with Mr. Gruber’s sentiments. I also happen to be one of his friends. However, that’s not why I am responding to your comment. I am responding because you took one young woman’s supposed political ignorance and made a sweeping claim about all women who “tend to adopt their husbands political views” (notice the grammatical error there? I do). This is called a hasty generalization and it’s a logical fallacy. If your going to be a sexist, at least do it with a bit of intelligence.
This may seem strange, but I don’t wish to address the issue of abortion in this comment. Instead, I want to address something a little more fundamental: logical fallacy. I was disturbed by your comment because, well, it’s really, really sexist. I notice that you are a woman. That’s okay; you can still be a bigot. But I encounter sexism all the time, so that’s not why your comment left me so irked. It’s that you took a personal experience of one young woman’s supposed political ignorance and made a claim about the political apathy of all women. That’s called a hasty generalization and it’s a logical fallacy. Here’s a little hint: logical fallacies, especially ones that include grammatical errors (see “husbands”) are generally frowned upon in intellectual discourse. If you’re going to be a sexist, at least be intelligent about it.
Wow. Obviously didn’t mean to do that twice. Sorry. I may be skilled with the snark but I’m a self-professed technological idiot. Anyway, you get the picture.
Well written, Seth. The film was so horrible. Everyone should see it.
